TOURISM - PRIORITY DIRECTIONS OF ECONOMIC POLICY OF THE COUNTRY
The Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in his message to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted: «With a view to developing tourism, presenting our country’s unique tourism opportunities and national culture at the international stage, as well as attracting investment for tourism infrastructure improvement, I would like to propose to declare 2018 as the Year of tourism and folk- crafts in the country».
Fortunately, this proposal of the Leader of the Nation is a new step towards the development of national folk- crafts, ensuring the material life of the people and tourism in the country. The main purpose of the 2018 announcement is the Year of Tourism and the development of national folk- crafts, the presentation of old and highest skills of culture in the world, a beautiful landscape, its unique nature, a zone with significant ecological, historical, cultural, recreational and mountain tourism.
Understanding the need to accelerate the achievement and implementation of these goals, the further development of the tourism sector, the development of tourism infrastructure, improving the quality of services, supporting domestic and external tourism, attracting more investment in this direction and training talented personnel, in 2017 was created The Committee on the Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Taking into account the investment of the country's tourism sector, the Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee held a business trip on 29-30 April in the capital of the State of Qatar, the city of Doha, and met with representatives of travel companies at the forum "Tourist Opportunities in Tajikistan". Qatar tourism companies have expressed their readiness to invest in the development of tourism in the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of environmental, historical, cultural, recreational and mountain tourism.
According to the Action Plan, in 2018, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan was granted a number of new jobs, as well as benefits for craftsmen and entrepreneurs. Leader of the Nation in his message noted, that in this process, the Government needs to make sure to allocate preferential loans to entrepreneurs and artisans through the Business Support Fund to develop the national folk-crafts.
With a view to encouraging population for production of public consumption goods and development of folk-crafts the sale of such products needs to release from all tax payments starting from January 1, 2018.
The Republic of Tajikistan also has a rich historical and cultural heritage, natural resources, as well as the potential to attract a large number of foreign tourists to the country. Taking into account these facts, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has declared the tourism sector to be the priority area of the country's economic policy.
The Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan at the tourism conference "Tourism is a factor of development of the national economy", held in the city of Isfara, Sughd region, noted that the rich historical and cultural heritage of our nature attracted the attention of many foreign tourists, as an authorized body for the implementation of the Action Plan on the Year of tourism and folk- crafts, as well as for the implementation of tax and customs benefits, a lot of work has been done in this direction.
As part of the implementation of the decision of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to create and develop folk crafts, dozens of centers for the development of folk craft have been created in cities and districts of Tajikistan. In these centers people are trained to be masters of disciplinary nature on the traditional national technique.
With a high level of accountability and patriotism, each person must be self-confident and must contribute to the development of Tajikistan, its unique nature, historical and cultural sites, as well as the development of tourism and folk crafts.
